They use their own electrostatic precipitation that does not use filters but they have a high volume air flow and a Clean Air delivery Rate. This model is quite and is great for removing airborne particles, bacteria, viruses and even mold spores. This model is great for use in larger rooms.

This company even has a great idea; they have the Shaper Image Ionic Breeze Personal Air Purifier. This small personal purifier can be worn around your neck and it creates your own personal space of clean air. It is great if you are going to be in large crowds or possibly in an area where they will be a lot of smoking. You will feel comfortable knowing the air around you is clean. There is also the Surround Air XJ-2000 Ionic Air Purifier; it has a 100 percent solid state electronic circuit and no filters that need to be replaced. But these products are not without controversy. It has recently come out that air purifiers including the Hepa and Ionic Air Purifiers are bad for the environment. This debate has been ongoing for many years and yet over 2 million of the Ionic Air Purifiers have been sold. The debate is whether the purifiers are actually hurting the ozone and the agreement is that with no customers complaining that these Ionic Air Purifiers do not do what they say it is hard to debate at all.

There have been no recalls and companies like Shaper Image continue to sell these purifiers. There are many different styles to choose from and in different price ranges as well. Before purchasing any Ionic air purifier, do your research and choose the best model for what your needs are. Price may be an issue you can shop by price as well. You will be hard pressed not to find something you like.
