Taco Incorporated

Taco Incorporated has its headquartered in Cranston, Rhode Island, they develop and manufacturer hydronic pumps and parts used for heating and cooling. The pumps are generally used in residential, commercial and in institutes such as hospitals. Taco has a full line of heat exchangers, expansion tanks, flow measurement instruments, air separators and valves and zone control products.

Taco was established in 1920 and was and still is a family operated business. The company was created in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Elwood White, the grandfather of the current President John White bought Thermal Appliance Company or T.A co hence the name Taco. Soon after the inventor of the water heater joined the company and they began manufacturing water heaters and parts.

The company develops the tankless water heater and the tempering valve. The company moves to Providence, Rhode Island in 1926. They also get a patented for a year around boiler control. In the 1930's Taco Heater becomes a generic name. In the 40's the company built gun mounts for Navy War planes during World War II.

In the 50's, Taco makes a vertical pump with a bottle stopper arrangement and they commercial begin to sell them. The pump was the basis of the Taco Model 110 pump that is used today. After 2 decades of developing the wet rotor circulator pump becomes available. The Taco 1600 pump series was created. In the 70's the company reveals to the industry a wet rotor circ pump with a hollow shaft. In the 1980's the company introduces the very first line of commercial pumps.

In the 90's the company introduces the ESP motorized valve that is designed for hydronic closed loop heating systems requiring quiet operations. The company acquires Sweet Controls to expand their line of electronic control panels. In 2000 the company gets a new president, John Harzen White Sr dies making John Harzen White Jr the current President. The company introduces the WAGS Valve.

The company currently employees over 500 employees. Last year alone they had estimated annual sales of $ 100 million dollars. Taco is an ISO-9001 company. Their company sells their OEMs to trade professionals in North America and Canada
